It's the end of another day, Lord, what Calvin's dad once called one more chunk out of a finite and rapidly vanishing lifetime. There were opportunities there, some I took, some I wasted, and some I didn't even notice. And some will never come again, just as this day will never come again.

I give it all to you. All that I have done in your service, all that I have done well, all that I have done not so well, all that I left you out of completely. The good decisions I made, and the ones I'm not sure about, and the others. I need to trust you with all of it.

One day I know I will have no choice but to trust you. Strengthen my trust in you, and help me to practise it in this life, so that I will be ready to trust you in eternity.

Thank you for the rest I am about to enjoy. As you rested from your labours, help me now to rest, and awake soothed and refreshed to serve you tomorrow.
