A wrangles topic.
The Holy Spirit was promised by Jesus, and first arrived in Acts 2. That's pretty well agreed.
Christians do not agree on exactly how the Holy Spirit works today. Opinions range from those who claim to see healing, prophecy and other miracles constantly occurring all around them, to those who claim that these all ended at the end of the Apostolic Age. And there are many positions in between, and there is much confusion.
But all agree that the Spirit is at work in some sense, and that this continuing work of the Spirit includes speaking to us in some sense. This sense might include making the meaning of Bible passages clear, or just allowing us a different perspective that comes from trusting God (this is called faith).
